Proton New Persona SE RM59800 with GPS

Proton launched a special edition of the Proton Persona SE today, priced at RM59,800. The Persona SE is only available in two colours - Blue Haze and Brilliant Red. Like all new units of the Persona, the new Proton Persona SE is powered by the Campro IAFM engine which offers a smoother torque curve compared to the old Campro engine. It is only available with an automatic transmission.

The following are the differences in equipment for the special edition model:

* Leather-wrapped seats, steering wheel, gear knob and trim
* Meter panel from the GEN2 CPS
* Different alloy wheel design (15 inch)
* Cruise Control
* Smoked headlamps
* Silver matte door handles and front grille
* A bodykit consisting of front, side and rear skirts and a subtle spoiler
* A Proton-rebadged windscreen-mounted GPS navigation device

The GPS device loads its maps from an SD card, so it should be easy to replace the maps whenever there are updates. I noticed there were some points of interests loaded onto the map such as local restaurants so if you’re in an area you do not know and want to grab a quick bite the GPS should be quite useful in that sense.

Audi R8 GT3 with 500hp

For the first time in its history, Audi is offering customers the chance to buy a racing sports car in the form of the GT3 version of the R8 coupe. "The R8 is the first production Audi bearing the name and genes of a successful racing sportscar and is therefore an excellent base from which to build up our first big customer sport program,” explains Head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich. "Ever since the R8 was unveiled we’ve been inundated with enquiries about a race version.” Available for order from autumn 2009, the R8 GT3 will be able to participate in numerous national and international race series.

Given that the GT3 regulations prohibit the use of four-wheel drive, Audi’s race-spec sportscar comes with a rear-wheel-drive powertrain. The German automaker hasn’t given out all the details yet, but it did say that the mid-engined R8 GT3 will deliver more than 500 HP from the modified V8 engine. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheels via a newly developed six-speed sequential sports gearbox while the suspension will use almost exclusively components from the production model.

As you can see in the pictures, Audi has developed a full aerodynamic bodykit for the R8 GT3 that includes a modified front end and a large rear-wing to generate the required downforce. The R8 GT3 will also feature the necessary safety equipment to guarantee the well being of the driver in the case of an accident. The first test races of the race-prepped R8 in various European racing series are scheduled for the 2009 season.

Spyshoot of Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide

To the 'Ring we go, and our companions today that would be the Aston Martin Rapide and the Porsche Panamera. We'll let you decide which one deserves which title. Follow the link and you'll find a large gallery of both cars in basic black, un-camo'ed and racing each other around the 'Ring to help cast your vote.

In practical considerations, the Panamera looks to have the Rapide beat in all kinds of ways. For instance, it should get better gas mileage if you get the V6 or V8, and it has more trunk space with 450 liters. Aston's cars have little trunk syndrome, and the Rapide probably won't really change that. But hey, who would buy a Panamera or Rapide for practical reasons? Either way, we won't really know the state of things until the 2009 Geneva Motor Show next March when they are officially introduced.

Jaguar XJ Codenamed X351 spyshoot

The current Jaguar XJ, the retirement age have almost reached. Not so surprising that with a custom Jaguar XJ to the test, but surprising that the adjustments seem so brief.

Yet there is more to the hand, this is not just a Jaguar XJ with some light camouflage. The most striking is the clear front where more space was created for the engine or crash structuren to meet the ever stronger EuroNCAP requirements. The widened wheel arches give the gauge increased more space.

That the rest of the coach seems relatively unchanged, is less surprising than it seems. The XJ successor, codenamed X351 remains from the aluminum platform of the current Jaguar flagship use. Only in 2011, the new XJ expected, but next year we may already have a concept version admire.

New 2009 Honda Jazz Launched in Malaysia With Price of RM109,800 (V Spec)

Honda has launched the new Honda Jazz in Malaysia and although the two engine options are gone, the single i-VTEC engined model comes in two different equipment levels - Grade S and Grade V priced at RM104,800 and RM109,800 respectively.

There are four colours available for the new Honda Jazz - Taffeta White, Alablaster Silver, Crystal Black Pearl and Cerulean Blue Metallic. Both variants come with a 3 year or 100,000km warranty, and 6 months (or 10,000km) free service.

World's Fastest Mini Cooper S with 650 Horsepower

The Mini is not unknown in the racing. The small, muscular and raised Coopers usually prima from their place. Performance Tuner ABF is a fairly new player in the tuning wereld, but does well to hear directly by Mini USA in collaboration with the Cooper S fastest in the world to prepare.

There was a 2002 Mini Cooper S under hands. Of the 1.6 liter block was the standard superchargers replaced by a surge of Garret turbo. The engine is a computer Motec regularly and the whole works out at 650 hp. And now the most: on the front wheels!

2009 American Honda Civic Facelifted

The Honda Civic is one of the world's top selling cars and the automaker will look to embrace that position further by launching the facelifted 2009 model year version featuring a number of modifications both inside and out.

"The Civic lineup uniquely embraces traditional gasoline, hybrid, high performance and natural gas technologies like no other vehicle in the world," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "The exterior styling enhancements and newly-available features help strengthen Civic's position as one of the best-selling vehicles in a market that's embracing small cars more than ever."

Exterior styling receives some extremely subtle changes which leaves the over conservative theme in tact. The front bumper has been redesigned to incorporate extra air intakes on the side areas, the headlights and tail-lights benefit from new color combinations that feature clear turn indicator lenses with amber bulbs. There are also new alloy wheels for the EX, Civic EX-L and Civic Si models whilst the Si model gets a set of fog lamps.

Moving on to the interior we find very little has changed other than a few minor equipment changes in the standard packages. The engine and transmission options have also been left untouched.

“If it aint broke, don't fix it”. A saying that can clearly be felt with such a minor array of modifications for the Civic's mid-life pep up. Check out the press release below for more details.

Lexus Introduces First-Ever Pebble Beach Edition LS 600h L and Sixth Annual Pebble Beach Edition SC 430

Lexus introduced the first-ever LS 600h L Pebble Beach Edition and the sixth SC 430 Pebble Beach Edition to commemorate its continuing partnership with Pebble Beach Company. The vehicles were unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Lexus Fashion Preview on August 15, 2008. Production of these 2009 Pebble Beach Edition vehicles are limited to 50 LS 600h L flagship hybrid luxury sedans and 300 SC 430 hardtop convertibles. Pebble Beach Edition owners have the opportunity to customize their ownership experience by selecting from one of three distinctive merchandise packages: Callaway Golf Experience, Travel Package or Epicurean Encounter.

The LS 600h L's distinctive L-finesse styling is complemented by a unique exterior/interior color combination exclusive to the Pebble Beach Edition with a Truffle Mica exterior paint combined with an exclusive two-tone Alabaster and Black leather trim interior with Dark Grey Bird's-eye maple wood trim. Additional styling cues include 19-inch, five-spoke wheels with a unique finish, Pebble Beach interior badging, premium black floor mats with stainless steel badging, and blue illuminated scuff plates.
