Preview of New Perodua Nautica

A preview of Perodua Nautica is available now in the teaser website by Perodua. It show some hightlight of this new Kembara replacement including the interior, desk board, rims and head lamp. The outlook is still remain hidden but it should be like Daihatsu Terios from my previous post.

The interior shows a clean white on black meter panel design, manual air conditioning (I had hoped for automatic climate control because of its premium price positioning and Japan CBU import status), and an integrated CD player as opposed to the Toyota Rush’s 1-DIN or 2-DIN CD player, depending on trim level.

The headlamps from the original car has been retained, and the Perodua Nautica 4WD gets the projector lense variant. Only the top spec Toyota Rush has projector headlamps, while the low and mid-range models use reflector headlamps.

An interior with a dark-colour scheme is used, and here we see fabric seats. The short wheelbase version of this car is a 5-seater.

AMG Turbo V8 and Hybrid to Reduce Consumption and Emission

Reducing consumption and emissions without compromising the sportsmanship is the new strategy Amg to limit the environmental impact of its engines sees the presence of the turbo and hybrid, compelling technical solutions necessary to achieve the right compromise between performance and savings.

The big and bad 6.2-liter V8 won't be around much longer. Instead, AMG is turning its focus towards a new, twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 that will produce 570 hp and 665 lb.-ft. of torque, with output possibly reaching 700 hp and 885 lb.-ft. to replace the outgoing 612-hp V12 mill.

Forced induction is only part of the equation, as AMG is looking to a new hybrid-equipped V8, dubbed BluePower, that will either come with the X-Trac Flybrid system or a 100-hp electric motor integrated into the transmission. There's also talk that AMG will be releasing its own plug-in hybrid by 2012 and that diesels will continue to become an important part of the brand.

The other issue with which AMG has to contend is Mercedes' own turbocharged offerings. Future M-Bs will be sporting turbo'd V8s displacing 4.0-, 4.6- and 5.5-liters, with outputs ranging from 355 to 544 hp.

And what of the upcoming AMG supercar? Car says that the gullwing super coupe, codenamed C197, will debut in March of 2010 and be powered by the same 6.2-liter V8 (likely the last application of that engine) while sending all that energy through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

New 2008 Perodua Kembara Replacement named Nautica

New Perodua Kembara replacement named as Perodua Nautica announce last week. This replacement model 4WD will be a CBU import from Japan with Perodua badging and styling, though since the car will be a low volume unit there should not be any major changes with the design other than a minor grille change, as it would not be cost effective to do any major restyling with so little units expected to be sold.

Bookings are open from May 10th 2008 onwards. Also released are some official minor specs on the car - a 1.5 liter DVVT engine and a 4WD drivetrain, unlike the Toyota Rush’s 2WD drivetrain. It comes in automatic transmission only and has two colour variant - Medallion Grey or Majestic Black.

Honda Walking Assist Device

Honda unveiled new walking assist device that employed some of the same technology developed by Honday for its ASIMO robot, the walking assist device able to obtain information from hip angle sensors to help keep its wearer upright, with the device's motors also able to increase the wearer's natural stride.

Honda's Fundamental Technology Research Center will be showcasing the device at the International Trade Fair on Barrier Free Equipments & Rehabilitation for the Elderly & the Disabled, which will be held at Intex Osaka, Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27, 2008. Available in three sizes, the device uses brushless DC motors powered by lithium ion batteries that allow up to two hours of walking assistance per charge.

TOKYO, Japan, April 22, 2008– Honda Motor Co., Ltd. will showcase an experimental model of a walking assist device which could support walking for the elderly and other people with weakened leg muscles(*), at the International Trade Fair on Barrier Free Equipments & Rehabilitation for the Elderly & the Disabled (BARRIER FREE 2008) which will be held at Intex Osaka, Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27, 2008 (Organizers: Osaka Prefecture Council of Social Welfare and Television Osaka Inc.)

Honda began research of a walking assist device in 1999 with a goal to provide more people with the joy of mobility. Currently, the device has entered into the feasibility stage.

The cooperative control technology utilized for this device is a unique Honda innovation achieved through the cumulative study of human walking just as the research and development of technologies was conducted for Honda's advanced humanoid robot, ASIMO. Applying cooperative control based on the information obtained from hip angle sensors, the motors provide optimal assistance based on a command from the control CPU. With this assist, the user's stride will be lengthened compared to the user's normal stride without the device and therefore the ease of walking is achieved.

The compact design of the device was achieved with flat brushless motors and a control system developed by Honda. In addition, a simple design to be worn with a belt around the hip and thigh was employed to help achieve overall weight as light as approximately 2.8kg. As a result, the device reduces the user's load and can be fit to different body shapes.

The research of this device is being conducted by the Fundamental Technology Research Center of Honda R&D Co., Ltd. in Wako, Saitama.

Honda is planning to offer interested attendees an opportunity to wear and experience this walking assist device at the Honda booth at BARRIER FREE 2008.
(*) This device is designed for people who are still capable of walking on their own.

2008 Honda Accord Launch In Malaysia

Honda Malaysia launch it new Honda Accord today, this 8th generation is the biggest Honda Accord ever. It available with 2 locally assembled 2.0 liter and 2.4 liter variants, and a Thai-imported 3.5 liter V6 model. The price should be RM141,800.00, RM171,800.00 and RM249.800.00 respectively. Also Modulo accessories is available, the RM5,300 package including RM1,180 for the front lip, RM1,370 for the rear lip, RM2,180 for the side skirts and RM830 for the spoiler. There are also other Modulo parts which include a side step garnish for RM300, carbon fiber panelling for the interior for RM730, a trunk tray for RM450, door visors for RM450 and a Modulo single-bar design front grille which goes for RM920.

2009 BRABUS SLK with V8 Engine Produce 445hp

Parallel to the market launch of the updated Mercedes SLK, BRABUS is introducing its customization program for the hardtop roadster. The German tuner’s offerings include mechanical upgrades as well as cosmetic enhancements. Especially for the top-of-the-line SLK55 AMG model, BRABUS offers its 6.1-liter displacement V8 engine that produces 445 hp (standard SLK AMG: 360 Hp) and a peak torque of 635 Nm (468 lb-ft).

Power is transferred to the road via a modified seven-speed automatic gearbox and a custom-developed BRABUS limited-slip differential. The BRABUS prepped SLK AMG sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 305 km/h or 191 mph.

All versions of the 2009 SLK can be equipped with a stainless-steel sport exhaust system with four chrome-plated tailpipes along with a sport suspension that lowers the ride height of the roadster by some 30 mm. Additionally, BRABUS offers several high-performance brake systems, the largest of which features 6-piston aluminium fixed calipers and 355-mm (14 inches) vented and slotted discs on the front axle and 300-mm (11.8 inches) discs and four-piston aluminium fixed calliper on the front.

Appearance-wise, the BRABUS designers have come up with an aerodynamically enhanced bodykit complemented by chrome-plated roll bars and a series of light-alloy wheels available with diameters of 17, 18 and 19 inches.

As for the inside, the list of available components includes highly polished stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo, various versions of the ergonomically shaped BRABUS sport steering wheel and a speedometer with 330-km/h (206 mph) dial. Additionally, BRABUS can dress the SLK’s cabin with Mastik leather and Alcantara.

2008 Porsche Cayanne with 550hp


Porsche selected the Beijing Show to unwrap the most powerful edition of its Cayenne SUV model up to date. The top-of-the-range Cayenne Turbo S benefits from a modified exhaust system and improvements in engine control that help boost the standard Cayenne Turbo’s 4.8-liter V8’s output from 500 Hp to 550 Hp while there has also been an increase in maximum torque by 50 Nm to 750 Nm.

The Cayenne Turbo S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds (standard Turbo: 5.1 sec) and its top speed is 280 km/h or 174 mph. According to Porsche, despite the fact that the new Turbo S is faster and more powerful than the regular Turbo model, the fuel efficiency figures for the Turbo S are exactly the same as those for the Cayenne Turbo.

In addition to the performance improvements, from the outside, the Turbo S is distinguished by its 21 inch SportPlus alloy wheels housed within its painted wheel arches and by a sports exhaust system with four tail pipes made from aluminum investment casting. The air intake grills and wheel arches are painted the same color as the car body.

Inside, the new Cayenne top-of-the range Turbo S gets front sports seat with Comfort Memory Package, rear seating with individual seat contours, aluminum door panels showing the name plate together with leather upholstery in two exclusive dual-color combinations (black / Havana and black / steel gray) plus a leather steering wheel with padded center.

The Turbo S will be introduced into the market as from August 2008. The international basis price is EUR 111,400 or $175,000. On a side-note, the Turbo S, as with the rest of the revised Cayenne range will be offered with Porsche’s optional Ceramic Composite Brake. The front axle ceramic disks are 410 mm in diameter, whereas the rear axle disks are 370 mm in diameter. Deceleration takes place via six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear.

Mitsubishi Evo X by HKS

Here to share some HKS Evo X photo,basically the electronics have been tuned a little with the HKS EVC5, F-CON and VAC Type M System. As far the engine compartment is concerned, HKS used their great turbo hard pipes, blow off valve, as well as their suction kit. Unfortunately there is NO information regarding the final output of this beast since HKS is STILL in the test phase.

Goodyear's New Tire For The Moon

Goodyear recently reinventing the tire for the moon. The non pneumatic tire featured in the picture above is a prototype model developed by Goodyear for use first on the moon and eventually on Mars. Using the 1960s Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle’s (LRV) wire mesh moon tire as a base, Goodyear has been working with NASA to improve the original design.

The original LRV tire that was woven out of piano wire, worked very well with each tire required to support about 60 pounds of weight (everything weighs 6-times less on the moon than on Earth) and be used for a maximum of 75 miles. However, NASA’s new fleet of lunar vehicles will require tires to support about 10 times the weight and last for up to 100 times the distance.

Ford Facelifted Focus CC Name Black Magic

Unveiled at the recent Geneva Motor Show, Ford Focus CC facelifted has already entitled to a limited series to Europe named "Black Magic". this series is, as you suspect, only available in black rims with 17 "partially black.

It adopts a sportier suspension, lights and darker fog surrounded by chrome. Once inside, we discover upholstery leather… black, an audio system compatible with MP3 and Bluetooth technologies, reversing radar, for the wind deflector and black mats. It is available with 2 engines: the 2.0 essence of 145 horses and the 2.0 turbo diesel to 136 horses. The prices are, respectively, € 28100 and 30100.

RS-R Scion tC Rear-Wheel Drive Conversion

Scion's drift car is based on its most popular model, the tC sports coupe. The factory built front-wheel drive tC turned into a drifting contender through a rear-wheel drive conversion performed by acclaimed exhaust and suspension manufacturer, RS*R. The tC shares its platform with Toyota's Japanese market Avensis four-wheel drive and Caldina all-wheel drive, enabling it to undergo the conversion. RS*R used its extensive performance shop experience to change the tC's stock transverse engine configuration to a longitudinal setup in order to drive power, through the transmission and drive shaft, directly to the rear wheels.

The RS*R Scion tC features a 3SGE Beams motor, HKS GT3037 turbo and intercooler, Blitz Dual SBC boost controller, and AEM EMS engine management system that outputs more than 400 horsepower, compared to the stock 161 horsepower.
